TRANSPARENT BY DESIGN

A clear view.
Including the limits.

Live reports check walking routes and source-specific connectivity findings. Each result shows its geographic unit, date and availability. Exact-address internet service remains unverified. Official transport-noise sources are checked separately by category and location. Sunlight can be calculated in connected regions after selecting and confirming a façade and height. Regional coverage and exclusions are detailed below. Indoor temperature is not modeled. Missing noise values never mean quiet. Sample reports are illustrative.

Germany-wide everyday context

Search German cities, towns and villages with a street, building number and locality. Supermarkets use a nationwide OpenStreetMap snapshot; mobile and household broadband use nationwide official 100 m grids. A German address may have missing cells or unmapped shops. Sunlight is connected in supported regions, subject to usable building data. Near state boundaries the single-state sunlight model is unavailable. Federal rail contours are connected nationwide; state road and airport coverage varies. See the sunlight section below for connected regions and remaining source gaps.

Supermarkets & walking routes

Imported OpenStreetMap shops and pedestrian routes from the configured provider. We compare up to five mapped supermarkets within 3 km straight-line distance and show the shortest usable returned route. England shops use the 5 November 2026 Geofabrik snapshot. Entrances, access and opening hours need checking.

Official outdoor mobile coverage

Bundesnetzagentur’s June 2026 release gives counts of 2G, 4G, standalone 5G, and overall 5G networks in 100 × 100 m cells. An address point is projected into EPSG:25832 and matched to its containing cell. Counts do not identify the operators covering that cell. This predicts outdoor coverage; it does not verify indoor signal, connection speed, or orderable home internet.

Home internet: area and building

The official Breitbandatlas release is dated 31 December 2025. We show percentages of private households reported covered at minimum download thresholds in the containing 100 × 100 m EPSG:25832 cell. FTTH/B combines fibre to the home and building. Technologies overlap; percentages cannot be added. Zero is a reported value; missing data remains unavailable. A 100% cell does not guarantee an orderable connection at this address.

Exact-building orderability, upload, installation and activation date require a provider check. Links to 1&1, o2, Telekom and Vodafone are a non-exhaustive selection, not a ranking or confirmation of local service. Addresses are not forwarded automatically. Official outdoor noise, source by source

The Eisenbahn-Bundesamt's 2022 contours cover mapped major federal railways and reported urban federal-rail sources across Germany. State road and airport services are checked separately. Berlin retains its nearby combined façade model; federal rail is shown separately. We never add the categories or turn a missing result into a quietness rating.

The noise registry includes all 16 states. Availability differs by noise category, location and mapping round. Several states use UBA’s published 2022 EU-reported transport contours, which can differ from additional state maps. A missing contour never establishes quietness.

We request only a point or small map area from official map services, never your name, rent, floor or window details. Exact contour queries avoid borrowing nearby bands. Raster and contour dates and licences stay attached to each result. Empty results can mean below a published range or absent coverage; service errors remain unavailable. Annual outdoor models do not measure your flat, sound insulation, nightlife or neighbours.

Successful individual source queries cache for 30 days; healthy no-hit queries for 15 minutes. Failed queries are not cached. Rechecking creates a new account report; earlier purchases retain their original report. Source registry, endpoints, licences & coverage ↗. Federal rail: © Eisenbahn-Bundesamt, dl-de/by-2-0 ↗.

Sunlight: a selected façade scenario

Sunlight uses official building data in 15 German states, subject to source and model limits. Schleswig-Holstein uses the complete published 13,805-tile inventory. Missing source cells and areas within 650 m of state boundaries remain unavailable. Thüringen’s official LoD2 download is currently unavailable. Select and confirm the mapped façade and window height.

We calculate representative days (21 March, June, September and December 2027), in Europe/Berlin time, using SunCalc 2.0.0 solar positions and direct rays against vertical building prisms. Only sun ≥10° high and buildings within 350 m of the selected point are evaluated. Low sun is excluded. Missing/defaulted building heights produce uncertain intervals rather than open sky.

Roof shapes are simplified to ridge-height blocks on common flat ground. Trees, terrain, balconies, glazing, clouds, farther buildings and indoor brightness are excluded. Source geometry can miss later changes. Totals are sampled every five minutes and rounded outwards to 15 minutes. This is modeled clear-sky potential, not measured sunshine or a room-brightness guarantee.

Data sources, licences and dates appear with each result and in the building-source registry. The model area is 900 × 900 m. Live source downloads send only an area or tile identifier; prepared Schleswig-Holstein tiles are read from private storage. Building scenes cache for seven days, and window selections expire after 30 minutes.

London pilot

London search is limited to the official Greater London boundary, excluding a 50 m uncertainty band. Supermarkets use OpenStreetMap and pedestrian routes. Broadband uses Ofcom January 2026 residential postcode percentages, not exact-flat availability. Defra Round 4 road and rail rasters model 2021 conditions at 4 m above ground on a 10 m grid. Each source is separate; missing or failed data never means quiet. Heathrow and London City aircraft Lden/Lnight are checked separately using official Defra Round 4 rasters. Sunlight is a conditional model after facade/height confirmation, using OSM footprints, quality-checked numeric EA LiDAR and OSTN15 alignment. Missing or rejected geometry stays unknown. Summer comfort is a viewing assessment from your answers, based on UKHSA guidance; it is not an indoor-temperature simulation. Automated address-level mobile predictions await authorised API access and suitable reuse permissions. Rent is monthly GBP; report checkout remains in EUR.

What’s coming next

Next steps include Thüringen building-source access, cross-state sunlight scenes and further data-quality validation. Source availability does not guarantee usable geometry at every address. Indoor sound insulation, neighbours, mould, actual room brightness and indoor temperature need other evidence.

Shortlists and checklist ticks stay in this browser. Signed-in live reports are also stored on your account. Older saved reports keep their original findings; rechecking noise and connectivity creates a new account report while retaining earlier findings and purchases. Search results are cached for up to a day; address selections expire after 30 minutes. Searches and route coordinates go to the configured providers shown below. UK building footprints use Private.coffee Overpass; validated footprint and elevation components are cached separately for up to seven days. Mobile and broadband-area lookups use imported extracts. Provider checks open externally; the address is copied only when you choose Copy address. No payments are collected.
